Just when I thought I would never again find an alarm clock that had ALL of the most important features I needed, I FINALLY found this one! This clock actually has a power cord! Decades have passed since I had a power failure in the middle of the night, so I cannot understand how anyone would want to risk relying on a clock powered only with batteries that could weaken and die without warning. Also, many clocks made nowadays put a snooze button right next to the alarm shutoff button, making it too easy to accidentally hit the wrong button. This lovely little clock not only has the snooze bar on top of the clock, well away from the shutoff button, the shutoff button is designed to require just enough deliberate effort so that it doesn't get shut off accidentally. I needed an alarm loud enough to wake me up from the deepest stages of sleep and this one works EVERY time, yet provides a high/low option for those who prefer a quieter alarm. The motor in my old analog clock used to constantly buzz and keep me awake unless I turned the clock on its face. This beautiful little clock doesn't make a sound until the alarm goes off. Setting the time and alarm are very easy; do it once and you won't have to refer to the instructions again. Even from across my large bedroom, it is easy to read the large digital time display, the AM/PM indicator and whether or not the alarm is set to the "On" position. The numbers are bright enough to see easily without illuminating the whole room. The clock design itself is very attractive and makes it a fine decorator piece for any bedroom. When I first ordered this clock, I thought I would miss having the second hand that I had on my old analog clock, but I don't even care about that anymore. I hope no one gets the hairbrained idea to stop making a reliable clock with all of these perfect features, but in case that time is coming, I plan to order a couple more of these clocks to have on hand. I am so glad I took a gamble and made this purchase as it is everything I hoped it would be. If I had the money to spare, I would build the designer of this clock a small shrine! I would give this clock a 20-star rating, but you only allow a maximum of five stars.
