I orderend this for my son's 3rd grade geography and map portion of social studies. This globe is wonderful and has exactly what we were looking for. It has the latitude and longitude lines, and all the current names of places. It also has the topography of the different countries as well, which was a bonus. Highly recommend for anyone learning about continents, the world, and the longitude and latitude lines.

I bought this globe for my two elementary school age sons. While the globe itself looks nice and the mapping is very usable, the C shaped piece that holds the globe is made of very flimsy plastic and I am worried it will break with use. Also, it does not turn smoothly. While I was not expecting super high quality, frankly, I don't think this globe justifies its [$] price. I am strongly considering returning it.

Product was what I expected for the price I paid. Just what I was looking for.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was supposed to be in time for Christmas but ended up not being in stock and ultimately showed up a couple weeks after Christmas. When it did show up the piece that snaps into the base was broken and ultimately the globe would not stand upright. I would have sent it back but since my son had already been waiting a couple weeks after Christmas to get his present I didn't have the heart to tell him it would be a couple more weeks to get it replaced so I did my best to superglue the broken piece back on which seems to have worked for now. Obviously this fix will not last forever since it is for my six year old but at least he is happy and other than it being delivered broken I like the product.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    THIS WAS A GIFT FOR MY ASSISTANT, SHE HAD ALWAYS WANTED A GLOBE. SO FOR A FIRST ONE THIS WAS THE PERFECT CHOICE.
    I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN DELIVERY BY FED-X. THEY DROPPED OFF AT A FRONT DOOR AND A SIGN IS POSTED THAT STATES "NO DELIVERIES, USE DOWN STAIRS BACK DOOR."

      Slight discrepency at seam-line, but not enough to cause a problem. Also need to keep magnifying glass handy to read very small print. (These old eyes aren't what they used to be.) In general, it seems to be a good product for the money.

        The globe is colorful and informative however it is cheaply constructed. The lightweight plastic is not sturdy or durable. The sphere rubs against the holder preventing the globe from turning. The kids were disappointed to get a globe that does not spin.
